Combat shooting

Today, at the local shooting range, they tried to learn me some more about IPSC-like shooting... Damn! That KICKS ASS! Drawing your gun lightning fast, shooting while running, fast reloading / magazine change, El Presidente, changing weapons, steel plates, it was all there... And we did it all... I used a Tanfoglio Limited (not mine unfortunately) and there were many with the same gun, or a modified version. The others had Glocks, and there was one guy with a IMI Jericho... And man, we rocked... Wanna do it again!

BTW, we're gonna play tomorrow night...

Did so much, but never enough...

I have so many things to report, and I clearly didn't! Guess I've been too busy again... To give you a very fast update:

We (warGOD, Azatoth & Hoppin' Raven) visited the Dutch Army Open Days 2004. Man, that was SO amazing! Not only the tanks and vehicles, but especially the weapons and the Commando troops... We spend hours talking to this guys, asking questions and even holding several of their weapons. You can find some pictures on my personal site here and (especially) HERE!!!

Secondly I started a thread at www.militaryphotos.net about the pictures, you can find it here.

And last but not least, I went to Belgium to play Airsoft for the very first time. It's not like the real thing, but the closest one can get to military simulation! We (warGOD, Azatoth & Hoppin' Raven) are planning to go to Belgium again june 20th. We play in an Airsoft-clan named 'The Hunters'. Click the name for more info.

Another spot, same sh*t :-P

I finally moved. I'm not saying all is done now, but at least my computers are online and I found some time to update this site. We have been playing GR (of course!) and actually, quite a few things happened... But more about that later.

Also some real news: I'm busy registering an -.nl domain! This will be www.warmonkeys.nl (duh!) and should be operational in a few days. I will redirect the -.tk adress, like I did before. ("You did?" "Yes, I did... The site is on another server already".)

I already started my very own website at www.myweapons.nl. Why? Euh... because my 'personal page' at this site was 4 times bigger than the rest of site? Pretty good reason uh! :-P I'll remove a lot of data from here and add some other things to my page but weapon pictures. Or at least I'll try...

Movietime!

I've been busy for hours, but I finally did it... I uploaded a lot of movies to the Weapon-part of the site. You can go there by clicking the 'Pictures of weapons'-button on the left. Warning: Not all movies are uploaded, because I do no not have ANY webspace left! Who knows how to get more/additional space?

Later I will also add a separate section just for movies, at this moment the movies are on the same page as the pictures. Enjoy!

OD

And another holster (well, actually the same, but in Olive Drab).

March 2, 2004 - 02:10

Dressing up :-)

No, it's not Halloween, but yes, we do dress up! I added some close-up pictures of some (new) equipment I own, with Hoppin Raven being the (un?)willing 'model'...

March 2, 2004 - 01:50

Shooting, shooting, shooting...

Tomorrow we are gonna play again, for the third week in a row. We're gonna try some new mods, members should have received more details by E-Mail.

Shot the AK again together with Hoppin Raven, and also used the M1 carbine and a Norinco 1911A1. Just look at that big bore! Too bad it's just a compensator... And how he liked the AK-bitch? Ask him yourself :-) (You can find some more detailed pictures at my part of the site)

Teamstuff

I'm still thinking of a complete overhaul of the 'Members'-section. I added a nice picture today, not of our team, but a nice pic anyway...Click to see a bigger version. (The real deal: U.S. Navy Seals)

I also inserted a picture that shows all the members of the team during the last mission, and when you move your cursor over it, it displays the current ranks!

Real Life Ghost Recon, and some old news...

I Found this interesting site at Ghostrecon.net, it shows at that at least several Ghost Recon maps are based upon real locations! This similarities are striking... Check it out!

I also added a button 'Old News', which links to the news posted in 2003. This button will only be available from the main 'news'-section.

Playin' tonight, and some updates

I wonder how many clan-members can make it tonight. We are going to have fun anyway, but I would just like to see all of 'em for a change... Technical troubles, family-bussines and so on, I understand it all (haven't played last time myself because of failing hardware!) but I would just love to have all soldiers present...

'Soldiers' like Azatoth, which can be seen down here... Click the picture for a bigger one. No, that's NOT while playing Ghost Recon :-P

February 10, 2004 - 00:40

50 guns... 14 calibers... 5300 bullets... and 150+ photo's online!

My personal stats. Look at my page for more info. I recently designed all photo-galleries from scratch, so now it should be more organized :-) 'Should' I said... But hey, see for yourself!

February 9, 2004 - 00:20

Just some nice remarks

I updated the 'Quotes'-section, at the the 'Various'-page. Gny. Sgt. Hartman, anyone? :-)

Also funny: While using Google, search for 'weapons of mass destruction' and press 'I'm feeling lucky'... You will see this :-p

Since nobody noticed...

This site is online for exactely a year (and a day) now...

[WM] Soundtrack

Following, a small list of the ideas I got so far (in random order)... For any 'donations', veto's or anything else, mail me...

Drowing Pool - Bodies
Kill Bill Vol.1 Soundtrack - Nr.9
Rammstein - Feuer Frei
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
George Baker Selection - Little Green Bag
Godsmack - I stand Alone
Wagner - Ride of the Valkyrii
a Metallica song?
a Linkin Park Song?
a System of a Down song?
Music from Red Alert or Command and Conquer?

And some I've never heard of... (yet):
The Monkeys - Hey, hey, we're the Monkeys
Cool and the Gang - Play that Funky Music

I ordered some gear (again? Yes, again...) and I tried the webshop of Armee-Center.de this time. I added a link at the Links-section, so you can see for yourself.

January 25, 2004 - 22:20

And yet another War Monkey member!

Talek (not such a big surprise, really) signed up as the newest member of our glorious bunch of fighting apes. Welcome!

Next date for playing is februari 4, and even Mr. Wizard will play along, we all hope (including him!)

Ideas for the [WM] Soundtrack are most welcome, I'll add a small list of the (possible) contributions soon, and I would like some advice about the site layout too. Since I started using Dreamweaver, I want to change the whole site, improving the navigation and overall 'fell'. So just mail me any suggestions.

January 06, 2004 - 23:59

Happy New Year! Now let's play some music...

Pfoe. Just in time for best wishes :-) Tomorrow we're gonna play the first session of the new (gaming)year.

Coming January 27, this site will be online for one full year! Let's see if we can celebrate that... with music! I had this wonderful idea of making a War Monkeys Soundtrack! To play while doing 999 enemies defence-missions or so :-p. Songs like 'Bodies' (Drowning Pool), Rammstein or The Imperial March... Just tell me what YOU like! Drop me a mail, think of a nice cover design, offer to help distribute the discs (no online selling planned yet...) or whatever, just tell me.
